| Community Description: | Wellington's Army: Fact and Fiction |
Welcome to An Infamous Army.
This community is for fact-sharing, discussion, art and fiction relating to the British Army, its allies and enemies during the military career of Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington> with a strong - but by no means exclusive - emphasis on the characters featured in Bernard Cornwell's 'Sharpe' novels.
Relevant fictional characters, such as Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe, Colonels Brandon and Fitzwilliam from the pen of Miss Austen, any of the many military gentlemen from Georgette Heyer's novels - not to mention The Grand Sophy herself - or even original characters of your own making, are also welcome here.
The only requirement for all posts is a link to Wellington and/or his army, be it in Dublin as an aide-de-camp at the beginning of his career, or in Paris with the Army of Occupation at the end.
This is a slash friendly place, so please be aware that such content may exist and check headers accordingly should you wish to avoid it ... or actively seek it out...
Community Guidelines
1. Fic, icons and fan art are all welcome here, as are discussions and recommendations of books, films, etc., so long as they relate to the comm's content criteria. Please note, this is not an actor fan site, so please refrain from waxing lyrical about Sean Bean et al. Thank you! *g*
2. Please put a header on all works of fiction, with the main body of text behind a cut. The header should always include the following:
Title: (Including chapter numbers if needed.)
Author: (That would be you wot wrote it!)
Main Characters or Pairing: (That would be them wot you wrote about!)
Rating/Type: (G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17 ratings plus whether it is gen, het or slash.)
Summary: (A short synopsis of the story.)
Disclaimer: (For what it's worth...)
You may also need/wish to include:
Warnings: (Use common sense: Unsure if it needs a warning? It probably does!)
Notes: (Credit to your beta and/or anything else you think people might like to know.)
3. Descriptive subject lines are nice as well. ;)
4. If a suitable tag(s) exists, please make use of it. If not, one will be added later.
5. More than 3 icons or a large piece of art? Please tuck it neatly behind a cut, and add a warning if the content might be considered unsafe for work.
6. Be polite!
and last, but certainly not least:
7. When in doubt: put it behind a cut, warn for it, or e-mail the administrator. If you don't like it? Employ the back button, or scroll on by!
If you have any questions, please email tolquhon(at)dreamwidth(dot)org.
